Yellow Pages Superhighway™ History
Pioneering the Yellow Pages concept on the Internet, the Yellow Pages Superhighway™ was launched on the World Wide Web in December of 1994, and was the first company in the San Francisco Bay Area to send a sales force into the field. By March of 1995, it attracted major media for its innovative ideas and imaginative execution.
With starting capital of only $10,000, the Yellow Pages Superhighway's visionary founder, Esme Taylor, has managed to grow the company to its present size which attracts over one million visitors per month. The YPS has a strong Internet presence with over 14,000 websites for its clients, many of whom have built successful businesses through affordable leading-edge marketing strategies. In October of 1995, YPS developed proprietary software to become the first company on the Internet to introduce the Updatable Page™ where users of all skill levels could update their own web pages by simply entering a passcode and editing the copy on screen on their home PCs or from any computer linked to the Internet.
In January 1996, Net Happenings Digest listed the Yellow Pages Superhighway™ as one of the ''Cool Sites to Watch on the Internet.''
